One thing has the potential to be your medicine or poison depending on the dose you take.
How do you decide how much of one thing is the right amount for you?
We do many things throughout our day. Some things we repeat often and other things we do irregularly. Have you stopped to evaluate why your dose for some things is high yet for other things it's relatively low? Have you stopped to observe how your dosage affects the quality of your life?
Even to say do what feels right is misleading as what feels right is often connected to feeling comfortable. Staying in our comfort zone is not always the right thing to do for our long term happiness.
I was once told make hard decisions and have an easy life. Make easy decisions and have a hard life. It didn't make sense at the time but like many things after it was left to marinade the flavour of what was said penetrated me deeply.
So, how do we know we are taking the right dosage of things? For me it is not a short answer but I will say part of my answer is to say we won't always know. The gift is to keep experimenting with the dosage. The experiment is the experience. The experience is the lesson that no one can take away from you. The lesson is the learning. The learning is life.
